Sweet n’Spicy Wing Sauce

Wing Sauce
Jump to recipe

Sometime after our wedding, I made this wing sauce as an experiment for a family gathering. At the time, no one really seemed impressed. However, I stored all the leftovers in the fridge overnight. The next day, Crystal and I went to eat some leftovers, and discovered that the sauce had changed. After heating it up, we discovered that it tasted delicious!

Wing Sauce Options

Once you have a great tasting sauce, you have a few different options. You can toss your wings in it if you like saturated saucy wings. As another option, you could also use this as a dipping sauce for chicken tenders. The wing sauce basically goes great with any chicken dish, including a grilled chicken salad.

On another note, this sauce goes well over rice and/or eggs. As with most recipes, you never have to use it for its intended purpose. Once I make a new sauce, I try it on literally everything! I’ve tried it on pork, turkey, fish, and beef. I didn’t particularly care for the sweet sauce on those meats, but I loved it with fruit.

Wing Sauce Goal

I really want to develop my own hot sauce to replace store-bought sauces like Franks (my current favorite). I want to grow the peppers in my garden and distill the sauce in my kitchen. Having those capabilities would make it so much more satisfying to make something completely my own.

If you have any suggestions, ideas, or questions, I’d love to hear them!
